I was going to sew this week on Anne's quilt, but I was overwhelmed by how much stuff had gotten piled on top and around that project. I have to clean my studio! Ugh! I decided that since I HATE cleaning, I would just work at it for a half hour. I found some blocks that are left over from my string quilt, and I have them packaged up to send off to an organization that is seeking orphan blocks to make into quilts for children of police officers that have been killed in the line of duty (Blue Line Kids). Yea! One bit of clutter out of my studio!
I also came across some unfinished pillow cases. Years ago (my sister Jenna could tell you just how many) when my niece, Megan Geiser was a senior in high school, I bought some fabrics to make her pillow cases to take to college.

Meg was an avid bowler in high school,so I thought she would like the fabric selection. I did not make the pillow cases. :-( At some point (probably a couple of years later), the fabrics made their way to the top of a pile of things to do, and I cut the fabric into the pieces I needed. I did not make the pillow cases.....again. :-(
Yesterday, when I found them in one of my stacks o'stuff I decided to just get them done and out of my house. It took all of an hour and a half, mostly because my serger was giving me attitude, probably because it had been so long since we had played together! But after giving her some love (and new needles) we were able to do the job we had in front of us.

So I have a set of completed pillowcases that I can send off to Meg (whether she likes them or not! :-D) on Monday. And she is free to do with them what she wants; keep them, regift them, or donate them to Goodwill. But they are off of my shelf, and out of my brain space. And I have a little (emphasis on "little") clean space that makes me feel good.
Maybe I'll give this half hour of cleaning thing another try today! :-)
